Library Information, New books

We’re not just about books!

The Faculty Library’s resources stretch to more than just the bookstock and in most subject areas there are videos, DVDs and CD-Roms for you to borrow. For example, you can add an extra dimension to your teaching of poetry if you use a resource like In Person 30 Poets, which consists of a book and 2 DVDs of the 30 poets reading their own work.  For historians there is ‘People of the Great War‘, a DVD and CD-Rom of short films, downloadable materials and teaching ideas, and ‘The Rise and Rise of China’ is a booklet and CD-Rom  full of lesson plans, activities and resources for geography teachers. Our DVD and video collection of feature films includes such children’s classics as The Secret Garden, James and the Giant Peach and Goodnight Mr. Tom.  If you’d like to watch DVDs or videos in the Library, you’ll find players on Lily Pad 2 – just come to the Library desk to borrow a set of headphones.
