If you’re finding it difficult to get started on your research, don’t forget that the Library team is here to help you. First of all, we’ve posted lots of information on your Library CamTools site to help you at every stage of the research process, all available at the click of a mouse.
You can find out how to carry out a literature review and there are links to all the most useful databases. Once you’ve found your references, you can organise them using Zotero or EndNote – again the information on how to do this is all on CamTools. But what if you’ve forgotten how to use the databases? Don’t worry, there are pdf and online tutorials to refresh your memory on CamTools or you can book a one-to-one research session with a member of the Library team who’ll be happy to remind you how it’s done. If you live too far away to visit the Library and you are struggling to find material, we will even do a quick search for you.
When it comes to carrying out your research, you’ll probably want to look at material on research methodology, so why not check out the research methods ebooks link on CamTools. And then there’s the hard part – writing your dissertation – so to help you with that, we’ve provided a link to a list of books on academic writing and research.
If there’s any other way you think we might support you, please don’t waste any time wondering whether it’s OK to ask – it’s what we’re here for, so ask away!
